Review of the Keurig K-Cafe

In this review of the Keurig K-Cafe we will be discussing it’s ease of use, taste of coffee, cost, maintenance and give you a few more information on this Keurig coffee maker.

The Keurig K-Cafe measures 12.5″ tall, 16.7″ when open, 15.3″ wide, 11.7″ deep, and weighs 10 lbs. The cord length is 30 inches making easier to reach a plug.

Keurig K-Cafe is an elegant looking coffee maker with the nickel colored finish.

There are four cups sizes you can brew; 6, 8, 10 or 12 ounces, with a special strong button to concentrate the coffee a bit. The shot button uses a k-cup pod to get a concentrated shot of coffee for making lattes and cappuccinos, hot or iced. It’s not brewing espresso and there is no pressure when brewing the shot. It’s brewing the same way as a regular cup of coffee but a 2 ounce size.

The K-Cup universal reusable coffee filter is compatible with this unit so you can use your own ground coffee instead of a pod. Comes with a frother that is top rack dishwasher safe. You can froth fresh milk, soy, almond and skim milk. There is a cold setting for cold frothed milk.

For the price, this is not the best cup of coffee you are going to drink, but the Keurig K-Cafe does look like an expensive machine sitting on your kitchen countertop and does make a very nice cup of coffee for a cup style coffee maker, and it’s quick and easy to make.

Keurig K-Cafe Taste

Let’s be honest here, coffee out of a K-Cup or any other “cup” is not going to compare to fresh beans from a classic brewer. I feel the taste of the coffee from the Keurig K-Cafe could have been a bit stronger, but then that is also a matter of preference.

What about the Appearance?

The Keurig K-Cafe is a very attractive machine with a modern design machine and gives the appearance of a quality cup of coffee.

Ease of Use

So is it easy to use when zombie walk to the kitchen? YES! After turning on the machine it only takes about 3 minutes heat the water to ready temperature. Now just put in the k-cup, push the coffee button, select size and press the K button to brew your morning coffee in about 30 seconds.

The Milk Frother

I believe Keurig is the only machine in the market (as of this review) which has a built in frother. In about 2-3 minutes you can froth your milk of choice, fresh milk, soy, almond and skim milk. There is a cold setting for cold frothed milk, we found the skim to be the richest. We found this to be a very nice built-in addition.

Cleaning / Support

Cleaning the Keurig K-Cafe is simple, the frother is dishwasher safe but can be quickly cleaned with water and mild detergent after each use. (Watch video above)
