Pulsar PG12000B Dual Fuel Generator Review and Videos

before getting into the Pulsar G12KBN review let me say that I don’t like that they call this unit a 12000, it has 12,000W Peak/ 9,500W Rated on gasoline, less on propane. This means that when running it’s normal output is 9500W, and when surged can peak at 12000W. But, it’s still alot of power from a generator at this price point.

Dual Fuel – It’s nice to have dual fuel. This allows you to use either fuel source for operation of the generator. With a gas tank that holds approximately 6.6 gallons of gas, the generator should run about 13 hours at 1.2 load.

Easy to Start – Having an electric and built-in recoil starter option is great. This gives you the ease of electric start, and in case you forgot to keep the battery charged, and back-up option to pull start the Pulsar generator.
*If you using this as a back-up generator and not constantly using it, I suggest a small Battery Tender to keep the battery ready and charged for when needed.
DO NOT USE E15 OR E85 FUEL IN THIS UNIT. IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW AND WILL DAMAGE THE UNIT AND VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

This Pulsar PG12000B is transfer switch ready. If connecting generator to a building’s electrical system for standby power, you must use a qualified electrician to install the transfer switch, and comply with all electrical codes and applicable laws.
If using this Pulsar Generator as a standby unit for your homes or even as a stationary unit, you should use a grounding rod to ground to the unit and attach to the terminal at the rear of the frame.

With 9500W rating and 12000W peak, this Pulsar PG12000B Dual Fuel Generator should be able to run most of your household appliances, except a central AC unit. If you are using this on an RV or Travel Trailer, this unit will be more than capable to run the Roof mounted AC unit and several appliances at the same time; you just have to deal with the noise level.

Noise level – Even though we did not test the noise level on this Pulsar PG12000B Review, I would assume it peaks in the mid 90’s and mid 60’s at 1/2 load.

Warranty – Pulsar provides a 2 year Limited Warranty. You can read more about the warranty in the Owner’s Manual.

Even though there is no mention about it, I think this is the replacement for the Pulsar G12KBN which has been discontinued.

When looking at the Pulsar PG12000B review, this might not be the best known brand name, nor it is the best dual fuel generator on the market. But, it is priced more affordably than other brand name generators with with this much power. Maybe because their name is not as popular, yet.
