This is a good “bang for your buck” beginner drone. It’s not the highest quality drone on the market, but it is one fo the better drones in the price range. Being that it weights less than 250 grams, no FAA requirements are necessary.

SYMA X500 4K Drone Review and Videos
Before starting this Syma X500 review let me say that this is not a 4K video, only capable of 4K images. Video is 1080P. The camera does not have any image stabilization, therefore the video is bouncy and shoppy. Images are decent.
The gimbal is not a real stabilization gimbal, is just rotates the camera up and down.
As for the Syma X500 drone, it’s quite a fun drone for beginners. Being able to GPS hold is a real great feature when starting out. The follow me mode is very nice to have, and works fairly decent – not great.
There does seem to be some video lag from the drone to the phone, but Syma says this drone is capable of 5G (not tested the Syma X500 review).
For beginners, the return to home feature is Great to have! This feature will return the drone to home should it run out of battery power, or loose connection to the remote. Prevents you from loosing your drone.
With 2 7.6V 1700mAh batteries you can get a maximum of 56 minutes. That’s 28 minutes per battery. You might not see 28 minutes of use, but it is nice to have more than 20 minutes – specially in a beginner drone.
The Syma X500 is a bit durable, and so long as you don’t crash at full speed it should be able to sustain some falls. When starting out, I suggest using the prop guards.
