The myths about Pressure Cookers
Most people have heard the stories of the old pressure cooker blowing up while cooking, I have too. The difference is that I grew with my mom using a pressure cooker on a regular basis and I’ve used them before numerous times. But I can see how many people are scared of them. In this review of the Instant Pot DUO60 6 Qt 7-in-1 Multi-Cooker we’re going to try to dispel that fear and show you how to prepare food quick and easy while still using a pressure cooker style of cooking.
Let’s go over some of the Safety Features of the Instant Pot Pot DUO60 6 Qt 7-in-1 Multi-Cooker:
- Steam Release
- Anti-Block Shield
- Safety Lid Lock
- Lid Position Detection
- Automatic Temperature Control
- Overheat Protection

Advantage of the 7 in 1 Instant Pot Multi cooker
The advantage of a 7-in-1 pressure cooker is that it cooks twice as fast or faster than in a regular pot on the stove. Steam builds up inside the pot and cooks food faster. That saves time and energy. Whatever you are cooking tastes really flavorful because the spices have nowhere to go except into your meat or beans or anything else you put in here. All the cooking is done in one pot so it’s convenient.
The Instant Pot 7-in-1 Duo comes in both a 6-quart and an 8-quart size. The company also offers smaller pressure cooker models that come in 3-quart and 5-quart capacities if you plan to cook for a smaller group.
Here is how Instant Pot describes this 7-in-1 Multi Pressure Cooker:

I was about to buy one of these Instant Pot DUO for my mother, then i started reading the bad reviews. I just got the feeling that they have sold so many of these things that they had to find a way to mass produce. In that process it seems like they might have lost some of the quality and safety factors that got them to where they got.
I read plenty of Instant Pot DUO60 reviews where they caught fire, quit working, even the pressure seals failing. I just figured I would go with something more stable in the market. I can’t blame them for their success, but i think this happens with many fast successful companies.

These 7-in-1 multi cookers are the best. I love the one I have. The review really isn’t the best, but it will work. I am also getting a smaller one for when it’s just the husband and I.
There are tons of recipes on youtube and several websites. I think they 7in1 cookers got so popular that everyone is using and a lot of people are doing videos and websites for ways to use them.

Perfect addition to the Instant Pot family. This little pot does the same incredible job as it’s bigger brother and sisters. Great for making the side dishes or smaller main dishes. If you haven’t gotten on board the Instant Pot train, do not hesitate! This mini pot even makes yogurt. The benefits to pressure cooking are numerous, using the Instant Pot makes it incredibly easy. Can you tell I’m completely smitten with this little appliance? It proudly sits on my counter and is used nearly every single day.

I’ve been using the Instant Pot 6 qt IP, but always had way too much food left over. I bought the 3 qt mini for use in our camping trailer. However, I ended up dragging it home and using it there. It’s a perfect size for just the wife and myself. Things have gotten to the point that my wife says, “I don’t want to cook. Pull out the little pot (IP mini) and make dinner (spaghetti, soup, whatever).” My fault for becoming proficient with the use of the Instant Pots. When we have company to dinner, I use the 6 qt. IP. I love it! Just had to order a stainless 3 qt. liner pot for it (with a silicon lid) in case I need to put something in it in the refrigerator … or use it to cook something separately.
